For over a year, I've been on-again, off-again planning a meeting of the minds between soil scientists in westside BLM Districts. Over the months, the get-together grew as interest increased. The day of the event finally happened. There were about 20 people from across Oregon who showed up from several agencies. We spent the day looking at post-harvest logging operations at the top of the Evans Creek Watershed. The day was hugely successful and was topped off by watching BLM helicopter logging as we drove past their landing!
