Driving to Hart Mountain

For our first camping trip of the summer, I decided to pack up the family and drive them to Hart Mountain National Wildlife Refuge.  I had been there a number of years ago for work, but wanted to share the place with the family.

The drive over was hot.  We had lunch in Klamath Falls.  Bought groceries in Lakeview.  And took some great sunset pictures near Plush.  We got to the campground and got a pretty good camping site - even though it was one of the last spots left.

Got a quick bite to eat, donned our swimsuits and went hot springing right at dusk.  We went to the natural springs which didn't have anyone in it.  As we soaked, the crickets were chirping, the frogs were croaking, and a couple deer walked by.  Great way to end the first day!
