Visiting the Grandfolks in Seattle

It had been some time since we drove up to Seattle to visit the grandfolks, so we took advantage of Winter Break and did so!  The first day we just drove as far as Portland where we stayed with Mariska, Kelly, and Mia.  We ended up just staying up late chatting.  The next day we actually spent in Portland and met up with Josh and Hannah at Powell's Bookstore and then Jake, Kari, and Teagan for lunch.  After lunch, since we hadn't quite finished with Powell's, we returned.  After buying a ton of books, we returned to Clackamas where we met up with Mariska and Kelly again for dinner at the Holiday Station Food Carts which were just awesome.  Really great food!

On Monday morning we drove up to Seattle.  We were hoping to visit the Museum of Flight that afternoon, but it just didn't happen, because the weather was bad which led to bad traffic which led to us getting to Seattle later than we'd hoped.  Instead we just checked in to our hotel and ordered pizza from The Rock which was very tasty.

On Tuesday we got together with the Grandfolks for an afternoon of chatting.  We walked around their place a few times and got Zephyr good and tired - as evidenced by him falling asleep under one of their chairs.  That evening we met up with Don, Mary, James, and Nathan at Frelard for dinner.  It was busy, but amazingly delicious.  Good beer too!

The following day, we drove all the way back to Rogue River.  Again, we were going to visit the Museum of Flight, but that evening a Winter Storm Warning was placed on southern Oregon, so we tried to get home as quickly as possible and skipped the museum again.  Two, two-hour delays due to traffic in Centralia and Salem.  We did stop at IKEA in Portland, however where we picked up a few pieces of furniture.  It poured the whole way back except on the mountain passes in southern Oregon where we experienced blizzards.  Fortunately, nothing was sticking.
