Christmas Tree Hunting

Today was seriously the only day that we all had free time to head out and get a Christmas tree.  I was thinking about heading way out to Elk Valley Creek, but ended up remembering the Timbered Rock Fire of 2002 which is coming back in re-growth quite nicely.  So we went there instead.

Like every year we do this, it was rainy, but we all still had a good time.  The kids even found a few residual patches of snow.  It helped that I bought everyone hot chocolate on the way home.  We got a Douglas fir this year instead of our usual incense cedar, but on the other hand, it's the first year that we got a size-appropriate tree!  It looked pretty dinky in the woods, but we didn't have to trim off a couple yards once we got home!
