To make the most of the last weekend of Summer Break, and in an attempt to escape the smoke in the valley, we piled into the car and drove to the coast. We had heard that the smoke there wasn't that bad, but it was. The Chetco Bar Fire had the entire coast covered in smoke and it was snowing ash down on us. Everything was a sickly yellow color and the air was hot.
And of course on the drive there, the kids all got carsick and Zephyr even puked. He felt better after that, fortunately. And they all slept on the drive home which was nice.
These shots of Zephyr turned out the best. Really neat!
