This trip turned out to be a bit of a mistake. I went out to design more restoration structures on a day right after a pretty good rainstorm. As a result, the stream was about a foot or two higher than I had hoped. So even though I only had to cover about two-thirds of a mile of stream, I still ended up spending most of my time fighting through the brush on the edge of the channel which was too deep and swift to even cross.
On the upside, I finally got to see the infamous fish barrier waterfall which amazingly isn't a fish barrier. Believe it or not, coho, steelhead, and cutthroat all get over this falls which does effectively stop chinook.
