We skipped a couple days of photography, because we didn't want to drag kids AND a camera around in Las Vegas and it turns out that although it's ruggedly beautiful, western Nevada doesn't offer a lot of "oh wow, stop and photograph me" locations.
But Las Vegas was fun and Emma took a bunch of pictures that I'll post later. We stayed at Paris which Emma loved. Walking up and down The Strip wasn't well received by the twins. But we got fantastic Vietnamiese food at 11pm that everyone loved. The fountains at the Bellagio were phenomenal. The price of ice cream at a Haagen Daaz store was outrageous - never trust a place that sells something, but doesn't list the price. Emma and I had fun shopping the streets of Paris late one evening.
Reno was a fun place to camp out for an evening. We stayed at The Silver Legacy. The kids were beside themselves with the buffet. Emma took pictures here too and they'll get posted later.
After Reno, we drove home. And the weather got nicer and nicer the closer we got. We stopped for lunch in Susanville and stopped for a few pictures of Hog Flat Reservoir which was amazing to see completely full (normally it's a meadow).
All said and told it was a really great trip. The best part was that despite the cold, windy, wet weather and the twins having a cold, I think everyone had a really good time. And we saw a ton having circumnavigated all of Nevada!
