Climate Change Vulnerability

Every once in a while a sweet assignment comes across my desk that requires very little effort, but has really great rewards.  I got tapped to be a BLM hydrology counterpart to a Forest Service effort assessing climate change vulnerability on the Siuslaw National Forest which includes a fair bit of coastal forests.

Anyway, here are a few photos of a field trip that we went on to get an overview of the project area.  The weather was absolutely perfect and the hike and view was delightful.  The estuaries and dune ecosystems are especially vulnerable to increased storm flow resulting from Climate Change as erosion and sediment flux both increase.
