President's Day Weekend

We spent the weekend up in Long Beach, WA and Astoria, OR.  We bought tickets several months ago for the Festival of Dark Arts at Fort George Brewery which is a festival focusing on dark, powerful beer, tatoos, glass blowing, and welding.  For the rest of the weekend, I got us a house in Long Beach which was super kid-centric (bunk beds, TVs, air hockey, foosball, etc.)

So it was a good time.  Although driving to Long Beach in the pouring rain at night was not much fun.  And there were long lines at the festival with poor parking options and it was pouring down rain.  Buuuut, after a few really strong and delicious beers, none of that mattered much.  Dohnele got to be driver so I drank all of my tickets and all of hers too.  When we got back to our vacation rental, I feel asleep; and woke up with a bit of a hangover which was different.  A hangover at 4pm!  Ha!

On the day we left, we did a bit of shopping in Long Beach and played in the sand at Cannon Beach.

Ahhh...the days when one didn't have to social distance...travel, attend festivals and other such fun. Looks like a nice trip to the beach!
