Dohnele's Birthday Party

Because of Covid, we didn't want to do a birthday party for Dohnele at our house or anyone else's house.  So we decided to meet Dohn at Sparks Lake which is kind of in between us and him and stay entirely outdoors.  It was a big success.

We drove up Highway 22 (Zephyr got sick and puked near the top), dropped down into Bend, and then headed back up to Sparks Lake.  The weather was perfect: sunny, warm, and breezy.  And there were no bugs!  We staked out some beach front real estate and then went swimming.  Grandpa kayaked with Emma around the entire lake.  When they got back, Dohnele and I took off and did the same thing.

We packed a picnic lunch for everyone and brought a few presents with us to open.  Good times had by all.  It felt good to get together with folks while knowing that we were being Covid-safe.
