Lower Siuslaw River Restoration Tour

With spring comes the annual restoration funding cycle for the Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board for which I am a member of its Regional Review Team.  This cycle, one of the inspection tours took us to McLeod Creek which was restored a couple years ago.

And in the afternoon we drove to Bear Creek which is a stream restoration proposal.  Both streams had been heavily degraded from a century of over-grazing, stream cleaning, stream straightening, logging, and agricultural harvest.
