One of the days when mom was down to visit, we drove up to Little Hyatt Lake to escape the heat, go swimming, do a little birding, and get a short hike in to Table Mountain all while trying to get some good views of a big thunder storm. Seriously, the whole Cascades were dark and angry and lightning was firing off just about everywhere except for where we were. Made for some really interesting, dramatic lighting.

Fun to hike up into a bit higher elevation and look around to the surrounding hills, mountains and lakes. So lovely...such a treat for me to share with the kids!
