Volleyball Season

Emma's volleyball schedule has put some logistics challenges on our scheduling.  Normally, Emma is home when the twins get off the bus.  But with volleyball, she has Practice or a Game after school everyday.  So it's a rush for one of us to get home, pick up the twins, and get to Emma's school or another school in the District where she's playing to watch as much as we can.

 The hike out involved traversing this clearcut from the timber stand on the far side.  It doesn't look bad, but it wasn't much fun: fairly steep and full of knee-deep slash covered in thistle.

On this particular day, I was with two of my hydrologists over near Willamina doing stream surveys in a timber unit.  It was an exceptional day full of phenomenal weather.  And the woods were even quite pleasant with hardly any brush.  Anyway, after a day hiking in the woods, I had to bee-line out of there to get back to the truck to get back to Salem in time to make connections work for volleyball.
