Smith Creek Re-visit

 After visiting Smith Creek in the summertime and not seeing a lot of the alleged water quality impairments we were told are present, we set a date in January when we figured things would be good and wet and muddy; if there were going to be any water quality impairments coming from the road, we'd see them in January.  And as "luck" would have it, we ended up visiting the site just two days after a good flood event.  Sure enough, the road, even though it looked solid, was clearly leaching fine sediment into the ditch and stream network and creating turbid water.  Still not convinced that paving the road would solve the problems since there are water quality impairments even in the absence of timber haul.  Basically, the road just needs to go away.  And since that's not going to happen, the next best thing would just be installing a number of cross drains.  Cheap and easy fixes.
