It was time for the annual water quality testing of groundwater at the West Eugene Wetlands. I got a few hydrologists together and we pumped water from the shallow wells at the Wetlands to be sampled for heavy metals since the Wetlands have a history of poor management including dumping of all sorts of nasty chemicals.
The Wetlands are bisected by a railroad which messes up the drainage network and contributes toxins from the creosote ties

So what did you find? Standing water does not look too promising...but maybe there is good filtration.
