Went on a field tour of stream restoration slated to occur this summer in the heart of what was the Beachie Creek Fire. Pictured here is lower Elkhorn Creek in the distance and the aftermath of roadside hazard tree felling and harvest. Restoration structures were installed several years ago, but they were all burned up in the fire. I secured funding for this round of restoration.
A few days later, I toured the Silver Creek Day Use Area and Boat Launch which burned up in the Holiday Farm Fire. Not only did I secure funds for rebuilding this site, but I facilitated the transfer of funds to a watershed council so that they could do the work and meet their goals for the site as well as ours.
