This week it was the Cascades Field Office's turn in the spotlight. Again, Cory and I hosted and invited some botany staff as well. We were taken to the Sawtell Salvage Sale area where we assessed soil disturbance. We hold ourselves to a standard not to exceed 20 percent detrimental soil disturbance and we almost always meet it. This particular area was burned in the Beachie Creek Fire of 2020 and there was a lot of timber removed, but detrimental disturbance wasn't that bad and the soils are recovering nicely.
As is tradition, we concluded the day with a nice Campfire Session and discussion.
