Biking at Willamette Mission State Park

I decided it would be fun to bike at Willamette Mission State Park, but start on the far side of the river and ride the ferry across to the park.  And do the whole thing as a surprise for the kids.  It was actually really fun.  We parked on the gravel bar and then walked our bikes on to the ferry to cross.  Once in the park, we did a full lap all around the park.  It had rained the night before and the weather was moody, but warm and calm.  A lady we biked past said she saw a cougar in the park which would only be a little bit surprising, but we didn't see anything.

Although this wasn't our first time biking at the Park, it was our first time biking to the nations largest black cottonwood which is on Mission Lake which is actually just an isolated flood channel of the Willamette River.

In other news, I spent an afternoon with just Zephyr and took him to Dave's Killer Chicken which just opened up in town.  Zephyr absolutely loves fried chicken; it's his all time favorite food and so he'd been asking to go ever since they opened.  The chicken was definitely good, but their presentation was terrible.  Glad we went - probably won't go back.
