Spring Break: Portland

We spent the day in Portland!  The first stop was Mee Sen Thai Eatery for lunch.  It's delicious food and actually has enough room for a family our size even though parking on Mississippi Street is awful.

Then we went to the Oregon Zoo.  Parking was full there too.  So we drove a few miles west and then took the train in which worked perfectly.  Except on the way back we missed our "free return" by ten minutes.  The zoo was not as fun as I remember; a lot of displays were down and there were just sooooo many people.

To recover, we quickly drove to Alma Chocolate just before it closed.  That was expensive, but worth every penny.  Amazing, hand-crafted delicacies!

Just a little bit of school bus roof art

We finished the day at the Grilled Cheese Grill which is always a good time.  The kids love the idea of eating on a bus.  And the food is pretty great too.

Looks like a fun time!!! Did you ever read the "Boxcar" children series? I'm sure eating in a school bus was unique along with the fun art and grilled cheese...who does not like that!
