Western Rivers and Stream Assessment

The BLM's National Operation Center in Denver hired the Western Rivers and Stream Assessment Team to conduct surveys of stream across the western United States.  They in turn ran a contract with the Great Basin Institute to perform a big chunk of the work.  Anyway, team members from the Great Basin Institute came out to western Oregon to look at a diversity of streams.

Cory (district fisheries biologist) and I took them to the Salmon River, Molalla River, and Willamina Creek to look at glacier-fed volcanic streams, groundwater-fed volcanic streams, and depositional streams flowing through erosional marine deposits of the Coast Range.  It made for a full day of driving, but we got to see some really neat country.
