New Years at the Beach

We used to visit the beach on New Years with some regularity, but haven't done it in a while it feels like.  But everything lined up with schedules so we went!  Weather was decent, but the tides were super high and the ocean was stormy so we didn't get to walk too far on the beach since it was literally cut off by waves going all the way up to the woods in a few spots.

Another reason for going was because Emma needed her senior portraits taken and wanted them taken at the beach or in the woods.  Great backdrops, of course, but unfortunately the lighting in winter is terrible and tricky.  I think I got some good pics of her and she was satisfied even though it's not bright and sunny.
The color palette was very Sidney Laurence-looking (above)

After the beach, the girls wanted to go thrifting and to the Outlet Stores in Lincoln City so Zephyr and I got to hang out and wait in the car for a bit.  In other news, it's been feeling and looking like spring outside!  Just look at the buds starting to pop out!
Feeling and looking like spring in the neighborhood!
