Stream restoration only makes sense if you can do it as a partnership. And this month, partnering paid off. ODOT had cut a number of hazard trees adjacent to Highway 238. ODFW told the Applegate Partnership and Watershed Council. And when I was at a meeting with them, I said I could use the materials this summer in Powell Creek which is a joint project between the BLM, ODFW, and the Applegate Partnership.
Anyway, I paid our primary contractor to hire a self-loader and transport nine loads of great logs to the Provolt Seed Orchard which was only three miles away. There they'll sit for a few months until Powell Creek starts up this summer.

Wow!!! Dad just said he wishes he could get his firewood that easy! Lovely logs. Is that the seed farm we have frequented? Looks like it!
