On the first day of our trip, Stop #1 was Lake Cushman! It was on the way to Port Angeles and we hadn't ever been there before. Plus, we wanted to get to as many neat lakes as possible for Dohnele to paddle around on. It was a bit of a windy road to get there, but was in fact a very beautiful lake. I dropped off Dohnele to paddle and the kids to swim. About that time, Cory arrived and he and I went farther upriver (North Fork Skokomish) to go on a short hike and to go fishing. Neither of us caught anything, but it was a beautiful river.
After fishing and paddling and swimming for a bit, we continued north and eventually got to Port Angeles and our Air B&B.
When in Washington, one must drink Rainier
