A few things happend this week, starting with me organizing a biochar production field tour hosted by the Mount Hood National Forest. These folks are doing big projects! They're using two industrial-sized biochar makers to reduce volume of slash by 95 percent. They're treating biochar as a happy byproduct - not the primary goal which is interesting.
We also attended the Salem Art Festival again this year which had been on hiatus for a few years due to Covid. It was bigger and better than ever! The girls all got henna tattoos which were immensely enjoyed! Afterwards, we picked up some pastries from Emilio's Bakery which I really love. Tons of great pastries, super friendly staff, and nobody speaks any English; makes it fun! One day I made kimchi-fried rice which Dohnele augmented with a corn succotash that she made at work. The whole dish really came together!
