While we've taken several, smaller day trips for fun this summer, this trip was setup to be the big trip! Lake Chelan and Stehekin have been on my list for a few years now since it's remote and just looks so beautiful. I started planning the trip back in like February and already the nice rentals up the valley were booked so I pivoted and set the trip up so that we just spent a full day in Stehekin with ferry rips on either side.
On day one, we just had to get to Chelan. We were a bit late leaving, but so was Cory as it turned out, who accompanied us on this vacation. We all met in The Dalles for lunch at a mediocre brewery. Next stop was near Goldendale to take the obligatory, yet beautiful picture of Mount Adams. Next we stopped in Yakima, at a Bi-Mart, to buy fishing licenses.
Then it was up over a few hills to Wenatchee where we stopped for a bathroom break at Rocky Reach Dam. I'm sure it was all funded with social mitigation dollars, but the day use area there was super nice, as were the interpretive displays.
On to Chelan, however. We got checked in to our hotel and then zipped off to dinner. Super satisfying Mexican dinner. Back to the hotel to relax and sleep. Early day tomorrow!

Fun! Lake Chelan of course familiar...but Stehekin not. How fun that you stopped at a Bi Mart in Yakima!
