Wenatchee to Seattle and Home Again

Today we got up and went to a mediocre breakfast in Wenatchee and headed out of town.  Over to Cle Elum and then up the Cle Elum River.  Plan A was to drop Dohnele and the twins off at the reservoir, but it was entirely dried up and gone so we all continued up river until we found a good spot to pull off and access the river.  Dohnele and the twins went swimming, Cory went up river to go fish and I went down river to do the same.

I pulled my largest fish of the day from the middle of the above picture.  I thought for sure there'd be a fish in the bottom picture, but I didn't catch anything here!

I ended up catching a few, including one nice one, and Cory caught a couple.  After we agreed that we'd spent enough time in the sun, we headed back to the interstate and went up and over Snoqualmie Pass to Seattle.  After a quick stop to check into our hotel, we headed over to Great Notion Brewing where we met up with Uncle Don and Aunt Mary for a bite to eat and a good beer.

We took them home and then headed out for another beer at Stoup Brewing and then finally to Olympic Pizza because we were still hungry and knew the twins back in the hotel would be hungry too.  The pizza I ended up getting was super unique: Chinese BBQ pork!  We ate all of it.

The next morning, Cory headed homeward early and we went downtown to get Zoe a smoothie and then over to Twice Told Tales, a used bookstore in Seattle that had half-a-dozen cats on the premise.  Anyway, it had been on my list to visit for a while and I found a couple books from my list.  Then we went to Olympia where Dohnele did some shopping.  After that, it was a straight shot home to Salem, thus wrapping up the highlight of our summer adventures!
