Although we did a little family birthday party, Dohn and Teresa wanted to do a family get together for Emma's birthday too and they reserved a few cabins at Lake of the Woods for the occasion. Unfortunately, the dates corresponded to the Ironman Triathlon in Salem which is Basil & Board's biggest sales week of the year. So Dohnele couldn't make it, but I still loaded up the kids and headed south.
Dohn, Teresa, Josh, Hannah, Ben, Elise, Juleah, Tae, Derek, April, and Oliver all converged for a couple days and a couple nights. One entire day was spent in the lake swimming, kayaking, and getting sunburned. On the first evening I brought all the fixings for taco salads and on the second night, my contributions were marinated and grilled chicken wings.
With the extra room in the car, we were able to spread out some and Zephyr did a lot of napping.
