Sunriver to Reno

Pretty much all of today was dedicated to driving from Sunriver, OR to Reno, NV.  It's a beautiful drive, but it does take forever.  First of all, we didn't even get to La Pine before Zephyr said he had to go to the bathroom.  And then in Klamath Falls, the girls decided that they needed new swimsuits.  And while we were parked at a sporting goods store, Emma opened the back hatch of the car and out tumbled a cooler and one of my unopened cocktail mixers tumbled out and busted all over the parking lot.

Honey Lake.  Should be full, but is dry as a bone these days.

Then from Klamath Falls to Malin, Dohnele spent a lot of time working on menu planning before we crossed into California and the Modoc National Forest.  We didn't get to Reno for dinner before everyone started getting hungry, so we stopped for pizza and beer in Susanville, CA.

We filled up in Doyle, CA; didn't have enough left in the tank to take us into Nevada

We crossed into Nevada as the sun was beginning to set and it was really beautiful.  We got checked in to our Air BnB which was a few blocks away from downtown Reno which was nice.  After Zephyr got plugged into cartoons, everyone else went for a riverside walk which turned into a walk into downtown.  Which turned into a trip to Circus Circus where everyone had fun spending money.  I won the camel race and the largest stuffed animal!

Walking around Reno after sunset

Yarn bombing.  New form of graffiti that we learned about.
